Myeongdong is definitely one of the hottest tourist spots in Seoul. you will find almost every single cosmetics brands here (Nature Republic, Tony Moly, Innisfree, Skin Food, Etude House…). Instead of worrying whether or not you can find that specific brand, you should be aware of the salesperson who will approach you with passion.

I usually live around Myeongdong because of how convenient it is, and the food around the area. There are many street vendors throughout the day, and many restaurant provides Chinese and English menu.

There are so many street carts in Myeongdong that you can start walking with an empty stomach and leave with a full stomach.  The price is around 3,000 won to 10,000 won depending on what food you choose.

They offer different packages, you can choose which type of hanbok you wanna wear, and whether you want a photo from a professional photographers. There will be professional make up artists to do make up for you.

The place looks a bit small when I first stepped in, but actually it is really huge. They have multiple scenario such as bridges, houses, traditional food markets, and even a prison…for you to take photos. I only have my photo and a selfie stick with me, but that is more than enough to take some really good photos.

I went their with three other travel buddies, and we spent almost two hours there. The place is clean and the service is great. Worth going if you want to take some good selfies. MAKE SURE TO BRING YOUR SELFIE STICK THO!

Address: 30, Myeongdong 8na-gil, Jung-gu 2F, Seoul (Myeongdong Subway Station, Exit 5, walk for 2 min)

Hours: 9 a.m. to 10 p.m.

Price: 20,000 won to 18,000 won (Depends on the package you pick)

Hongdae > Ewha area

Hongdae and Ewha are two popular places where younger generation likes to go. Besides the two universities that is extremely popular in Korea, these two areas are popular among teenagers in Korea as well. They often have cheaper cosmetics and clothes which is more affordable to students. However, they don’t have as much street vendors along the street compared to Myeongdong.
